OK, ta for looking. Will get to listen properly later today and see if any change with new version. Is there any changelog etc for the UPnP plugin you know of where I can check what's different with .15?

You will find the CHANGELOG inside the Zip file that gets downloaded but here is an extract from 2.1.13.6 that Philippe must have created earlier today.

      2.1.13.6
      - missed nextURI fixed by a LMS "next" request rather an UPnP request

      2.1.13.5
      - delayed stream log fix

      2.1.13.4
      - don't disable "binding" when XML file does not exist

      2.1.13.3
      - try to delay stream_sock to NextURI's HTTP request

      2.1.13.1
      - don't call track_info if no track found

      2.1.13.1
      - remove wait_underrun option which is too similar to no gapless. Still need to figure out what was the impact for HQPlayer
      - when missing duration, request next track immediately at end of decoding

      2.1.13
      - release

But we're up to 2.1.15. And I don't get a zip file, I just update via LMS.

The zip file is unzipped into the LMS Plugin directory - so the file is there.
However, Philippe has also put his plugins on Github so you can view there as well - for example

          and click on CHANGELOG

Sorry I was looking in Dev.

You will find all versions here

The changelog is also installed with the update and in my case (Linux) is here but I can tell you now it isn't up to date!! Only goes up to 2.1.11.

You will find your exact location under (Default skin) Settings / Information - scroll to the bottom - its the Plugin path with "cache/InstalledPlugins" in it but yours may be different.

Ah, right, thanks Paul, I see the changelog at github. For .15 it says "delayed stream sock should only be sent once, if codec has not been acquired". I have a jaunty pair of red spotted ones on today, but beyond that I'm not sure what this sock business means.

OK, I've had a listen to my setup with the latest .15 version of UPnP, and no different. Lots of tracks stop a Qobuz playlist when they end, there are clipped seconds off the front of some tracks, there are entirely skipped tracks; it's quite a mess. Unless anyone's got more suggestions of things to try LMS-wise, I guess I'll take it up with WiiM.

I think the Pro has more issues. I’ve been listening to Qobuz virtually all day on Mini with only a couple of odd things happening. That said unless WiiM do put Squeezelite onto it I can’t see it remaining in my setup long term.
It’s strength is also it’s biggest weakness. Too flexible. Both what the device can do / ought to be able to do and what the company says they will do.
I constantly see people asking for edge case development which they reply to with “that’s a good idea”. It isn’t at all.
Philippe’s assessment is that the UPnP implementation is poor. I think he knows what he is talking about.

Good points, tho I'm a little more positive about the future of the WiiM, in my case the Pro. A little. But we'll see.

Certainly they seem to promise everything but cannot hope ti deliver it all.

Philippe knows what he's on about, for sure, and I don't doubt his assessment is correct.

I've just posted at the WiiM forum and suggested they pull their finger out and get LMS/Squeezelite implemented, which would remove the UpNP problem. No doubt they will promise it. Again.

Best is to run it non-gapless

I have tried the Mini in flow mode which of course gives gapless OK but limits things to 16/44.1 (may matter) and stops the metadata to the WiiM app (doesn’t matter in the slightest).

If gapless won’t work on Pro then I’d try flow mode.

2.1.15 is working ok with Mini

You don't have to be limited to 16/44.1 in flow; You can set the reconversion to be whatever you want

d6j6, thanks for the info, will try later. And settings for Flow would be helpful: I can't see obviously where that's set.
