You are right, sync doesn't work with the upnp bridge.

That confirms what is described in the first post of this thread: Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp).

Generally speaking, UPnP/DLNA players can not be synchronized with Squeezebox/Squeezelite players.

But Sonos players can be synchronized with other Sonos players when they are grouped using the Sonos app. Under Sonos tips it says:
Sonos players, when grouped, will keep their synchro within the Sonos group. When a group is created, all slave players will disappear from LMS, only the master is kept. They will re-appear when un-doing the group. You must use the Sonos app to create/delete groups.

It's only work if you have a least one Sonos speaker with Airplay (Sonos One) then you can also stream on the Play:1s (but the one with Airplay has to be active).
But they do work from LMS with the UPnP/DLNA bridge, which is what I use with them. Apparently they won't sync with other speakers, I've never tested this, as whole-house sync really isn't interesting to me.

Your Sonos speaker May well be reachable via Apple AirPlay.
If it is then install Philippe's AirPlay Bridge plugin on your LMS and the. You should see it represented like any other LMS player.
