Can you list the plugins you have? It’s a port exhaustion not at the LMS level but at the system level, now that I’ve re-read your post. So it means that something else is using ports and not closing them... interesting. Do you have Shairtunes2W?

        1) I meant to say Oscillograph (my translation, my LMS talks German to me, maybe Spectrum in english LMS?), but with VU-Meter its the same.
If I set "Analog VU-Meter" in "Information on current playback" I get the screen I posted earlier. If I set it to "Oscillograph" I get the screen attached here. Can I get the Oscillograph to inhabit the same area as the Analog VU-Meter and yet show the album art?
btw: there is no "cover" shown when I play radio stations - can the station pictures be shown on the screen?

        2) Yes, I found that. However, if I set Screen Saver to MusicSCR the album art vanishes together with the Analog-VU Meter. I remember having the same problem without cover pictures on a OLLED display. But I forgot how I solved it. It was some intricacies in how to configure MusicSCR.

        3) Bien sûr, I can confirm this works! I wouldn't need it atm, but in general it could be useful to have the option to switch off the backlight when the amp pin goes off.

Oh, the spectrum analyzer is covering the whole screen .. that’s strange. How do you set it in player’s settings. I assume you have MusicSCR in the ‘screensaver when playing’ and ‘spectrum analyzer’ in the ‘now playing’.

I have probably tested more screen with 320x240 orientation and there might be a bug with the reverse. This is a very complicated piece because LMS has no real idea of how to handle more that x32 screen so I have to make a lot of guesses for how to fit artwork and vu/spectrum altogether with different orientations

oh, I have a candidate for that: I developed my own LMS-to-4x20-LCD driver on my pCP. I need to check whether I miss closing ports.

No, if I use MusicSCR both spectrum analyzer and cover vanish.
screensaver when playing is "now playing" (found the LMS language setting...)
              now playing information is
              # Analog VU meter -> screen shows cover
              # Spectrum Analyzer -> spectrum extends to bottom of screen, no cover

how is your layout if you use the screen in landscape orientation?

Automatically the vu rotates to be displayed vertically (analogue and spectrum)

Well, I even forgot what I did (need to update the info text). So on a 320x240 display, set the X artwork offset to a typical small value of 32 and that will shift the image to right, leaving enough room so that the plugin+firmware notices that it's smarter to rotate the VU/spectrum and place it vertically, leaving maximum room for artwork.

Now, still, I've found a couple of issues on the current version for VU/spectrum position when not rotate on a 240x320 setting.

                      Thanks.

Adding to my earlier observation, I find that frequently - but not always - artwork isn't shown when I sync the player with artwork enabled with (one or more) players without.

                      • updated to 532 / v0.210, thanks for the work!

Spectrum now shows nicely between cover art and scrolling title, but only when "Screensaver when playing" is set to Now Playing. Setting it to Music Information Screen takes out the spectrum (text and cover art stay).
The spectrum values shown come out quite high (I use the player @ 100% feeding a pre-amp) and I tried to change it with the Spectrum scaling setting on the ESP plugin page to lower the height of the columns.
I think, however, that this setting doesn't effect anything. Is there a way to tune down the height of the bars shown in the spectrum analyzer?
Likewise the "Full spectrum band factor" setting doesn't seem to change anything.

Syncing players is still bad for cover art.

On another note: my synced players have a tendency to switch themselves on when I switch on one of the other players.
All Synchronize Power settings are set to "Power Off/On separately", however.

Are you sure? I just tried and I have Music Info Screen and artwork. What can happen sometimes is when switching between modes, things can be a bit funny. Just apply the setting twice of try another track maybe.

Yes, these parameters are not for "volume" of the spectrum but for the number of bands displayed. There is already a fixed value for scaling back when using fixed volume. I can change it but it's built-in and others seems to have liked the current setting

These are strange. Especially the power one, it's a LMS request to power ON/OFF devices. Have you tried with your other squeezeboxes?

will try again when I get home. But I remember having difficulties with the analog VU and MusicInfoSCR on an oled display before. The solution was in how to configre MusicInfoSCR, but I here I failed so far.
Can you please share the settings you use for MusicInfoSCR?

It doesn't change anything on the spectrum analyzer, also not the number of bands displayed.
The volume scale is good for analog VU, for spectrum the left half of the columns is basically maxed out at usual loudness. No biggie though, analog VU is nice, too.

My SB3 squeezeboxes I had to retire completely : (
I used to run two pCPs, but they are not online currently. But I can turn them on to test.
The problem occurs only sometimes. But I don't remember switching the pCP would affect the ESP32s, only that switching one ESP would also switch on other ESPs or pCP.

                              • Jinxed.

Went back to my system, updated to v0.211 and played around with all the settings I could find.
When I set up my phone camera to film my unsuccessful attempts to use spectrum analyser with MusicInfoSCR it suddenly worked.

Attached two pics to show the spectrum levels an analog VU at the same second when output volume is fixed to 100%.
