    Random number for alarms?

It's not random, but (part of) a hash, based on the current time,
hostname, process ID etc. to make sure it's unique. What do you mean by
"fixed number"? A simple integer value?

    Random number for alarms?

If I give a CLI command defining a new alarm:
    "bd:a5:a9:9b:9d:df alarm add dow:1 enabled:1 playlist:file://some/playlist.m3u time:9000<LF>"

    I get a response:
    "bd:a5:a9:9b:9d:df alarm add dow:1 enabled:1 playlist:file://some/playlist.m3u time:9000 id:eaf39<LF>"

Is the id (in this case eaf39) a random number? Is it possible to change the id to a fixed number?
