I'm also noting this non-ideal DSTM behavior, for example:

-- Create Random Mix with a single genre=[Classical], Continuous=enabled, Historic track count=10, Upcoming track count=20
-- Track list populates with 20 tracks, this is good
-- Track list contains Classical tracks, that may also have other genres in those tracks, E.g. my album Amadeus has multiple genres=[Classical, Soundtrack]
-- After the initial 20 tracks play, 20 more are added but now with genres=[Classical, Soundtrack]
-- I have several non-Classical Soundtrack albums, like [Saturday Night Fever, Purple Rain], for example
-- So now peppered in with the original Classical Random Mix are disco and 80's pop tracks (I love the Bee Gees and Prince, but not right after Bach's Chaconne, it's startling to say the least!)

    Is this the intended behavior?

I don't see how this is related to DSTM: as long as Random Play is run
DSTM won't kick in, as Random Play is adding tracks.

I suppose I don't know the difference; my player settings are set to "Don't Stop The Music"->"Song Mix (limited to current genres)". Are you saying that it's not DSTM that is auto-populating the tracks in the queue in this scenario? If it's the Random Play (via Random Mix), then it's Random Play that's incorrectly adding to the genre listing each time "Upcoming track count" tracks are added to the queue?

It does, but not when Random Play is running, as that would never end
the playlist anyway (until you've played all of your collection).

When DSTM is enabled, the end of a manually populated queue (not a Continuous Random Mix queue) generates the command "URL: randomplay://track?genres=Classical". Is this not the same command executed for a Random Mix?

When DSTM is set to "Song Mix" I would expect it to generate a mix with genres selected in "Random Mix". What actually happens is that the selected genres become unticked in the "Random Mix" plugin so when "Random Mix" is next used genres need to be reselected. Is this expected behaviour?

At least it has been this way for 4+ years...

True but I only just realised what was resetting the Random Mix genres. Couldn't DSTM just use the genres selected in Random Mix?

Surely nobody wants language lessons or meditation tracks etc to pop up in a "song mix".

You could edit the line responsible for resetting the genres:

Just put a hashtag in front of it, or delete the line. Then restart LMS.
If that worked, we could probably add this as another option to DSTM.

Well that worked but now when DSTM triggers a "song mix" it doesn't play in continuous mode which reminds me of another recent thread.

                          Restarting LMS again fixed it.

OK thanks. Another thought came to mind. At the moment if DSTM is set to MusicIP for example and it fails to generate a mix for any reason then it falls back to "song mix". When this happens the "random mix" genres are reset so should it fall back to this new choice to retain the chosen genres?
