Sound drop-outs when playing WMA, lossless or wav files.

When using wireless I get sound dropouts when playing WMA, lossless or
straight Wav files on my squeezebox unless i set bitrate limiting to 320
kbps or less. I have even tried to run the device next to my router which is
a D-Link 624 and get the wireless signal strength up to 80% but there seem
to be no difference for me if the signal strength is 30 or 80%, the
    drop-outs still remain.

When using Ethernet connection the problem is gone, but then I´m missing the
    whole point buying the Squeezebox!

My computer is new so no worries there. I have the latest slim-updates
    installed.

I understand others have had the same problem but I haven´t read about a
solution to it yet. Is there one? Please help!!!

a solution for the current server almost always comes down to reducing
interference. wireless is overcrowded and poorly controlled. Signal strength
is misleading as you can have a high signal and still get lots of garbage in
the data. Some users have had luck by just switching routers. I've had
success with both the LInksys BEFW11S4 and the WRT54G. I dont know how it
fares when my microwave is running, I dont have a cordless phone but I do have
a neighbour with some flavour of completely unsecured wireless. I dont think
anyone has compiled a breakdown of dropout problems by OS, so hard to say if
    that's a factor at all.

Ultimately, the end solution comes down to reducing bandwidth use. its hard to
get a read on the average usable bandwidth of a wireless connection, but
reducing the typical usage can only improve the situation. Unfortunately, this
is not a simple task, and requires much work on the firmware side. Many users
have asked (demanded and screamed) for it, but there are always other problems
and users that, quite fairly, need their issues solved too.

I have no doubt it will come in time.

On my system, it often stops when the microwave is on, and recovers
      once the microwave is off.
