View Full Version : RSS + Double Size = Server crash

Just installed Slim 5.4.0 on my XP SP2 box. I love the RSS feature, but
when I switched the display to double size, the process crashes. Restarting
only causes failure once the squeezebox reconnects. I had to edit the prefs
file (doublesize=0) to get it working again. I have the older display. Any
advice?

Okay, here is the log from the event viewer:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Application
Event Category: None
Event ID: 0
Date: 11/22/2004
Time: 8:49:59 PM
User: N/A
Computer: LIVINGROOM
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or
message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be
able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and
Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Perl
interpreter failed.

The same error appears 7 times. Can you submit a bug report for me? Thanks

actually anyone can file a bug report. Any changes in status will then be
emailed to you, and you can go back to that report and answer any questions
that the developers might have in order to help you solves this problem. If I
file it, those emails go to me and since I dont use the windows service, I have
nothing to really offer.

I have noticed that there are more than just one report with this or similar
error message. then down side is that it looks rather short on specifics.

If you are really uncomfortable with filing your own report at
bugs.slimdevices.com, then try emailing support (AT) slimdevices (DOT) com, and Kevin
Pearsall can likely file one for you.

Thanks for the report, Tim. We're tracking down the problem, it
appears to be a bug in perl!

Stay tuned...
