    rescan crash

i am using the itunes database with slimserver and when i updated to 5.4 my collection no longer appeared to be loaded. now when i rescan my library, slimserver crashes about a third way through and when i restart, there is still no music to be found. i think this might be due to some corrupt mp3's, but i don't know where the problem is. is there a log which could tell me where exactly in the scan slimserver is crashing?

    thanks

    David,

There is a log to look at. If you are on Windows, check the Event
Viewer (Control Panels -> Administrative Tools) and look for the System
events. You should see a log event in there for the crash.

On Mac OS X, look in Home -> Library -> Logs -> slimserver.log

Post the last item logged here and we'll figure out what's going on.

i didn't see anything relevant under system events, but under application i
      found this:

Faulting application slim.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module perl58.dll,
      version 5.8.3.809, fault address 0x00086928.

      is this helpful? thanks
