Sorry for forgetting to describe my setup.
I was running the precompiled slimserver for Windows (latest nightly) on XP
Home SP1.

Because of your feedback I downloaded ActivePerl 5.8.4.810.
When running slimserver using this Perl version, I still have the same crash
situation.
In the command window where I started slimserver, I get this message before
the chrash:
Not an ARRAY reference at C:/Program
Files/SlimServer/server/Plugins/RssNews.pm line 806.

Commenting out line 350 in RssNews.pm did not help.

The problem Steinar describes below occurs whenever an RSS feed contains
<item> tags with id attributes. Apparently that does not happen often,
because I know of no other feed that does it.

At any rate, the fix is checked into CVS, and should be included in the
next nightly build.
