I have a SB classic 3 which has suddenly stopped working. There is no display at all on the unit, is there a way of testing the power supply to see if thats at fault?

Any light on the Toslink / Optical connection?

Any light on the Toslink / Optical connection?

Sorry I have no idea what or where that is? Is it on the back of the SB3?

The black, square plastic port called "Digital Optical Output" (marked s/pdif on the case) above should glow red if power comes in.

Ah ok, I've just checked now and it is definitely not lit up red, it's not glowing at all. Does this probably indicate that the power supply is at fault rather than the SB3 itself?

Yes, probably.

Common reason for blank display
* Power supply fault
* loose wifi card / daughterboard or faulty wifi card.

IIRC One user recently reported blank screen and no red glow from optical connection but after reseating the daughterboard, SB3 worked OK.
