agreed, but if we don't express our desires then Slim (and companies like
them) will never know what we want. remember, it isn't a demand, but a
polite request or desire :)

Although a lot of folks have indicated interest in an all in one unit it
still might only amount to a tiny number of sales for Slim.

The risk of spending the substantial capital needed to design and fabricate
a "boombox" squeezebox and then only being able to sell a handfull of them
is huge... Such things have tanked small companies in the past.

I would also get an all in one unit if they were available for my bedroom,
especially if they had the option of being powered by a bunch of
rechargeable batteries too (AA size would be best) :)

Me too. When I bought the Squeezebox, I was actually looking for a clock
radio replacement. I'm running mine in the bedroom with a junky little amp
and a pair of wall-mounted speakers, but an integrated unit would be neater
and more convenient for that location.

one suggestion, file these requests on bugs.slimdevices.com and vote away.
This way, those requests are definately noted and recorded. It much nicerthan
repeating these polite requests and subsequent discussions every time something
comes up that isn't the exact answer to those wishlists.

Bug reports are a good idea. I ran into a few things about the Roku
this afternoon whilst looking for some slim stuff and it is a good
looking piece of kit both in terms of the case and the display. On
top of that it's priced cheaper than the squeezebox in the UK (25
less at the only place that has them in stock). I'd consider running
a mixed environment if they'll work - both the metal case and the blue
display are really smart.
