Thinking about buying a squeezebox but cannot any info on the docs or
FAQ in relation to 802.11g.

I have a linksys 802.11g access point running 64bit WEP encryption and
was wondering if squeezebox will work fine with one of these?

As far as I know the wireless Squeezeboxen are 11b devices, (I might be
wrong - they certainly were the last time I looked). If that is still the
case, using an 11b device on an 11g network will restrict all other devices
to 11b.

A wired squeezebox into another 11g access point would be better, but that's
more cash and squeezeys dont need it anyway. Someone said somewhere about
getting another 11b access point, I've seen USB 11b things for very
reasonable money, but I dunno.

Wired or wireless Squeezebox?

As I noted in an earlier thread, I'm using a wired Squeezebox with a
Netgear 802.11g bridge, and it works fine. Total cost is the same or
less than the wireless Squeezebox, and this configuration uses 11g
instead of 11b.

The squeezebox does not support g.
it only supports b.

If your AP will support split b & g then great, otherwise all traffic will
run at b speeds.

Rgds,
Bruce.
