Using LMS I find there is no way way I can connect to BBC World Service - if I use BBC iPlayer plugin I just get connection refused. If I use the BBC Radio app then I get only connecting. The only route which plays is via Tunein.

All other BBC stations play without any problems however I access them.

Baffled.

Connects OK for me using BBCiPlayer, takes ages buffering though.
Format: AAC, Bitrate: 32kbps reported.

Have you tried playing with Server Settings > Advanced > Network "Radio Timeout" etc. to see if it makes any difference?

Thanks. I'll try that tip.

Could this be a UK vs non UK user problem ?

I am outside the UK and I have the same problem - also with Radio Scotland another 32kb FlashAAC streams but no problemwith 56kb FlashAAC such as Asian Network. The BBCiPlayer log shows a straneg "don't support channels > 63" error.

From Paris, France, this one currently does not work:
Home > BBC iPlayer > BBC World Service > Today > 18:00 BBC News: 07/10/2012 (reports "0,wma" and stalls)
But all the other ones I have tried do, incl. the 17:00 news segment (128kbps CBR, aac)
Local time at time of testing ~ 18:15

Strange.

I have a dns redirect on my router so it should appear as if I'm in the UK ...

I'm now getting connection reset by host on WS and RS, also Radio Foyle.

I'm not sure what is happening. I tested again mid afternoon WS worked OK but RS gave "connection reset". It feels like a BBC problem.

My bizare World Service problem is that often the news (short news, on the hour) is often scrambled, with the same clip repeated several times, speakers cut off in mid sentence. It happens maybe 4 or 5 times a week, and sounds as if the BBC engineer (or editor) has gone to sleep on the job.

Very odd ~ has anyone else noticed this?

I've had exactly the same thing, about 30 or 40 seconds sometimes heard three times, and then continues normally. I can't see any pattern in it, but it's usually just after World Service has turned on from an alarm setting.
