View Full Version : Live 365 Crashes SlimServer

I have been very impressed with the internet radio capabilities of the
squeezebox/slimserver combination - which seems like a free extra to me
who bought the SB simply to stream my own music. Shoutcast, Radioio and
various others work just fine but I have not had any luck with Live365,
which I had not bothered to investigate until the past couple of days
when I got around to registering with them. As soon as I attempt to
play a Live365 station I crash the Slimserver, immediately and every
time. I can browse the station names, search for music on Live365 etc
but playing causes complete slimserver crash. Have tried via SB and
SoftSqueeze with same results.

Set up is Win XP (no SP2) on a 2.8GHz Pentium running 11/5 nightly (same
happened with 11/4 also).

dp,

Would it be possible for you to run SlimServer with the --d_plugins flag
enabled and post the log after a crash? If it weren't a crashing bug,
you would be able to set --d_plugins using the Server Settings >
Debugging page in the SlimServer web interface and view the log at
http://localhost:9000/log.txt. Since SlimServer is crashing, you will
need to run slim.exe (found in the server subdirectory of your
SlimServer installation) from the command line:

slim.exe --d_plugins

and paste the debugging output.

Thanks,

Vidur,
Here's the debug output following an immediate crash when attempting
play "Dimensions in Jazz" at Live365. Hope this helps

Vidur,
further investigation shows that if I put the Live365 station name in a
..m3u playlist file with the syntax
"http://www.live365.com/play/ksbrcd" (this one for ksbr for example)
and save it in my playlsists folder then I can play it fine through the
Squeezebox. Navigating to the same station via the SB menu system and
hitting Play immediately crashes the server. Maybe this helps you in
figuring this out.
