Hi,

I've just recently bought a squeeze box, great product really happy with it.

However, I think i've found a bug with the "browse by artwork"
feature. It's failing to show artwork for albums/songs which i know
contain embedded images.

In settings - Interface, under - Browse by Artwork
I have changed the setting to show placeholders

I then browse artwork, some images are shown, but I click on a non
image album placeholder to show the full album details. The art work
is not visible for the index page but it is for the album details
page, as well as the song page.

I have about 500 albums, all with embedded artwork, but about 60% fail
to show artwork on the albums index page and yet slim server happily
shows the art work for individual songs and albums.

I am using fedora core 2 Linux as the server, but all my mp3s have
been encoded using iTunes on a windows 2000 PC. I have used iTunes to
embed the artwork into the mp3. The mp3 artwork that shows in the
index have been encoded the same way as the mp3s that don't show up.

I have upgraded the id tag to 2.3, but that hasn't made a difference.
I am using the 29 Oct Nightly.

(Scratching my head) Am I missing something? does anyone know any quick fixes?

Cheers,

Ben

go into server settings, debugging, select d_artwork.
click change
go into server settings, performance, click wipe cache
check the log in /tmp/slimserver.log

you will see many messages regarding the artwork scan, including the search for
embedded and for artwork files.

when browsing, the browse by artwork is cached. the artwork displayed when
showing a single album is drawn up on demand so you can see that when it might
fail during a scan for some reason or another. There MUST be album tags and
the embedded tag should be PIC or APIC tag. Please refer to the help section
of the web UI under Technical Information for more details.

please feel free to post sections of the log that show a specific album failing
to find artwork.
