I'm running a wireless SB on an 802.11g network (SlimServer 5.3.1), and
am getting ocassional drop-outs, especially if I do something on the
SlimServer Web interface. The wireless signal strength is pretty good at
around 75%. I suspect the problems are down to the WLAN bandwidth. I'm
going to buy a dedicated 802.11b access point for the slim as they're
dirt cheap now, but was wondering if having 128 bit WEP increases the
chances of a drop-out?

Has anybody had improvements by switching WEP off?

Cheers,

Ben.

There shouldn't be any effect on the Squeezebox with respect to WEP on
or off, but that may not be true for all wireless access points. I'd
have to suggest that you give it a try and see if the behavior differs
for you.
