When descending into the folders using browse folder, it does not pick
up any new stuff for me. This is running 5.3.1. on XP SP2, but I don't
recall it ever working for me before with previous versions of
slimserver.

then you can have a look into what is going on with the scan by turning on
d_scan and/or d_info and opening up the log window
(http://serverIP:9000/log.txt). It could be that html caching is getting in
the way if you have that turned on in server settings, performance.
