Hi all

I've still not been able to set up my Touch/LMS to update the playcounts in iTunes and have been sidetracked but am trying again now!

I'm going to try with iTunesupdate first to see if that does what I need, as TrackStat looks better but needs more time to get good use out of it.

I have iTunesupdate installed and can find the itunesupdate.pl file in C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\P lugins\iTunesUpdate but I'm not sure what to do with it next.

I have Perl installed, but where does iTunesUpdate store the text file with the played tracks? And what script do I use to get it to update?

The iTunes music is on the F:\iTunes, Perl installed on C:\ and iTunes data files in C:\Users\Finchy\Music\iTunes if that helps!

Thanks!

The text file containing the play history should appear in your configured LMS playlist directory.
You then run iTunesUpdate.pl on it.

Thanks for the reply James.

I am trying to run the following from the command line;

C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe "C:\Users\Finchy\My Music\iTunes\iTunesUpdate.pl" iTunes_Hist.txt

but it says it cannot open the perl script as there is no such file or directory. Both the iTunesUpdate.pl and the iTunes_Hist.txt are in that folder, and Perl is in the C:zPerl\bin folder. Any ideas?

I have the latest version of iTunes.... I presume that should still be fine?

What's the exact error you get?
I would expect the path to the iTunes_Hist.txt file needs to be provided (unless you are running from the directory that contains it)

Ah, thanks. It took me a while, but I remembered that the iTunes files are redirected by symlink, so I had to use the full path and not the symlinked path for it to work.

C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe "d:\Music\iTunes\iTunesUpdate.pl" "d:\Music\iTunes\iTunes_Hist.txt"

I need to juggling some of the paths as well, but at least it works!

Thanks James! :)
