View Full Version : Start of track doesn't play

Ever since I hooked my Squeezebox up to my new Pioneer 56txi receiver,
I never get the first half second or so of music when I start playing
a song using the remote. When a song ends and the Squeezebox goes to
the next song it works fine. It is only when I hit play or next/prev
track that I miss the start of the song. I have tried both the coax
and optical SPIDF connections and neither works properly. The analog
connection works fine.

When the Squeezebox is connected using a digital input, if I have my
receiver setup to auto detect either the analog or digital input the
digital input display shows up when the song starts. If I hit next
track I see the receiver go back to auto detect mode for a half second
or so and then back to digital when the music starts playing (with the
first half second missing). Setting the receiver to not auto detect
and to only look at the digital input doesn't help either. My only
guess is that the digital input is turning off for a split second when
starting a different song causing the receiver to re-detect the
incoming signal. Is it possible to get the Squeezebox to output
silence when switching tracks? This is all with the latest released
server and firmware (5.3.1) running on a Linux server. Thanks for any
help.

there is a player setting, under audio for audio startup time to allow more time
for certain DAC's to lettle on the clock.
