I seem to have forgot the password and the user-id to my Slimserver (or
something is wrong) - how can I reset it? Is there any file I can edit
to do this?

remove the line "password = ..."
and the line "authorize = 1"
from the slimserver.pref or slimserver.conf file

locations for this file are:
OSX
~/Library/Slimdevices/slimserver.pref

WIN
c:\program files\slimserver\server\slimserver.pref

LINUX
~/.slimserver.pref
or /etc/slimserver.conf (RPM install)

-kdf
