View Full Version : Fishbone Volume Control Gone

I recently went to 5.3.1, and the volume control disappeared from the Fishbone skin. It still appears on most of the other skins, but I don't like any of them as much.

I am using the "Fixed Digital Output Level" setting, because it says that gives better analog quality, and I am using the analog outputs. If I switch to the "Volume controls adjust digital outputs" setting, the volume control reappears on the skin. This is the only skin that exhibits this behavior. Is there _really_ an analog quality difference between the two settings?

I also noticed the output scaling seems to have changed dramatically in 5.3.1, and I have had to turn my amp way down.

it was a user request to have the volume control gone if the digital output was
set to fixed. To my understanding, the description refers to the digital output
fixed giving the best output quality to your speakers and using the amplifier
to contorl the volume. However, if the setting DOES really affect the analog
RCA outs, then I'll put the volume back in.
