[others have praised it; I will, too]

One unexpected use I've found for my Squeezebox is as the ultimate
semi-portable music player. ("Semi" because you have to plug it in to the
wall. I've got a nice pair of semi-portable powered speakers. If I want
music in any room of my house, or in the garage, or outside on the patio, I
grab the Squeezebox and speakers and in less than a minute, I've got very
nice access to several thousand tunes.

Subject: [slim] Do you recommend buying a squeezebox?

Hi all,

I've been reading the discussion list posts now for a couple of weeks
and I am rather put off buying a squeezebox because of all the problems
that are coming up. There was a post by Neil that complained his box
(slimp 3) never worked properly.

Would you sill recommend the squeezebox, or should I hold off?

What speakers? I've been thinking about this, but have the feeling
it's still a bit toomuch to move, especially as I do tend to wander
around my apartment.

How about modding a old boombox. You could remove the electronics, slip the
Sqeezebox inside, hook the ac and audio out up, then just carry the boombox
around and plug it in where needed.
