    WAV files with ID3 Tags

    Hello All!

I'm looking for help on converting a large library of WAV files (which
all play great on my Squeezebox) to _some_ compressed format (MP3,
ogg, whatever). Here is the problem: All of my WAV's contain ID3 Tag
information (including album art) that was put there by MusicMatch
when I ripped the CD's to the drive. Now the Squeeze does a great job
reading these files _and_ all the tag info ... but nothing else on
Linux (did I mention I'm doing this on Linux - switched from Windows a
    while back?) Seems too ....

Does anyone have experience maybe using some of the Perl code of
Slimserver to extract this ID3 Tag info (I've looked at the functions
    - I'm just not sure how to use them yet!) and maybe pipe this
information into LAME (for example)? OR, am I just missing a good
WAV->MP3,Ogg encoder that can read these Tags already?

Any help would be great! Thanks and have a good one.

Thanks for the idea Howard! I've got all the info I really need in the
path/file names, so I'll probably work on a bash script to handle
    this. Have a good one!
