SlimServer - Still having problems with stream playback

Thanks Sean... Okay, neither I nor any of the people I stream to have a Squeezebox. I do have SoftSqueeze, but generally don't use it. I usually use WinAmp, but have also used MediaPlayer and iTunes, simply because that's what most everyone has (the friends, relatives I want to stream to).
The people I stream to use WinAmp, Media Player & iTunes.
I am not interested in streaming to myself, but use the various players I mentioned when "testing".

Otherwise, it doesn't matter what Player I use or don't use, does it? I just open SlimServer & then people should be able to stream from my library, as I understand it.
Or are you thinking that if I open SoftSqueeze that that might solve the playback speed problem (for people outside my home, receiving my stream with WinAmp or Mediaplayer)??

If you're hearing too fast playback (I mean like a record playing too
fast, not skipping/jumping) then it is probably not a problem in
slimserver, but on the playback software. If it only happens with
certain tracks then you should see if those tracks have unusual sample
rates (eg 32KHz) which might cause problems. There are a lot of
different permutations of sample rate, bit rate, number of channels
etc. Squeezebox supports all of them but you may find that other apps
don't.

If you don't think it's a problem on the client side, then the most
likely possibility is that something is wrong with your transcoding
setup. Do you know if you have non-mp3 formats which are getting
converted to mp3 for streaming over the net?
