View Full Version : Complete album in a single FLAC file, tracs in CUE file, does it work?

I prefer not to split an album into individual files and use the CUE file to
identify separate songs within the (FLAC compressed) wav file. When played in
Foobar2000 or other standalone players this works perfectly, but not in
SlimServer. I can skip from track to track acording to the CUE file, but the
playback will always start from the beginning of the file with the first song.
Any suggestions to what is wrong here?

Thanks

Ogs

First of all, make sure you're using the latest version of slimserver.
You need flac 1.1.1 included in server version 5.3.1 for correct playback.

Then find the convert.conf file located in the slimsever directory. Load
this file into WordPad. You need to comment out

#flc mp3 * *
# [flac] -dcs $FILE$ | [lame] --resample 44100 --silent -q 9 -b $BITRATE$ - -

and

#flc wav * *
# [flac] -dcs --force-raw-format --endian=little --sign=signed $FILE$

and uncomment the entries below them.

flc mp3 * *
[flac] -dcs --skip=$START$ --until=$END$ $FILE$ | [lame] --resample 44100 --silent -q 9 -b $BITRATE$ - -

flc wav * *
[flac] -dcs --force-raw-format --endian=little --sign=signed --skip=$START$ --until=$END

Then restart your server.

Also - this is the default in CVS/Nightly builds, and will be in the next release.
