View Full Version : iTunes empty playlists again after rescan (5.3.1)

Recap: running 5.3.1 on a PC server, iTunes is installed on another
PC. I have configured iTunes to rip CDs directly to the server's music
folder. Copies of the .xml and .itl files from the desktop machine's
iTunes installation are placed on the server and pointed to manually
(rather than the "Find iTunes Automatically" option) from within the
setup options of SlimServer.

I've been ripping CDs for a while and now I was ready to do a rescan on
the slimserver so I copied the .xml and .itl files over to the server
and then did a rescan. Now, the playlists that did work before (but
only after installing 5.3.1 from 5.3.0) are now empty... again.

I have rescanned the library several times, restarted the SlimServer
service, rebooted the server, tried to let SlimServer find iTunes
automatically, and reinstalled 5.3.1 all without any results. Can
someone help me figure out where I'm going wrong? I don't understand
why the SB keeps saying that my iTunes playlists are empty!

Are your playlists referencing files on a mapped drive?

Mine are and they show as empty.
