View Full Version : adding songs to playlist

When I add a song to a playlist using the web interface it is added at
the end of the playlist. When I do this using the remote control the
song is inserted after the song now playing.
This is a pretty annoying behaviour, as it makes making long playlists
using the remote impossible.

Is this a bug? A feature? A server setting I overlooked?

Using SlimServer 5.3.1 on Linux...

Are you pressing and holding the add button? If so that will insert the
song after the currently playing song. A single press of the add button
adds the song to the end.

Taken from the remote control reference in the web interface:
ADD
Press the gray ADD button to add the currently displayed item to
the current playlist (the list of songs to play):

* If the currently displayed item is a directory, add all songs
within that directory recursively
* If the currently displayed item is a song, add that song only.
* If the currently displayed item is a playlist file, play all
songs within that playlist.
* If the currently displayed item is a song in the Now Playing
playlist, remove that song.

Press-and-Hold the ADD button to add the above items into the
playlist after the currently playing song, instead of at the end. If the
currently displayed item is a song in the Now Playing playlist,
Press-and-Hold will remove that song, and add it to a special playlist
named Zapped.m3u.
