Is the ReadyNAS Ultra2+ supported in SB Server to downsample 96/24 FLAC files for Squeezebox 3? I have DUO now = I can't play anything sampled > 48 Khz. Thanks for an answer.

OK - I gave a try - and it works.
But are the 96/24 tracks resampled to 48/24 or 48/16?

From what I can tell you are making use of the following rule when you play high res tracks to a SB3

flc flc transcode *
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=-r %d}
[flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav - -t flac -C 0 $RESAMPLE$ -

Seems like flac is decoded to a wave (at full resolution) and passed to sox to be re-encoded as a flac with a resampling parameter (-r 48k). Nothing in that chain of commands will truncate bit-width.

I see your point however SB3 says ( example ):
FLAC bitrate 3150 converted to 750.

Shouldn't be the 48/24 resampled bitrate about half of 96/24?

the bitrate reported by SbS on FLAC files is not really correct (an estimate) and should be generally ignored. Search the forums for lots of threads on this related to "FLAC bitrate incorrect".
