Hi, I have been using SlimServer for several years now and I'm very pleased.

I have over the years gained more and more players, now I have four. Two radio and two classic.

But now I have a problem, the kids have tow radio one in each room and think it's fun to control each others Radio from the web-gui.

Is it possible to password protect per "player"?
Or is there something else I can do to solve my problem? (not educate children to be kind to each other)

Thanks
/Johan

not sure, but makes me recall my childhood. When brothers and I did not behave properly with our toys, first offense was all of us losing access to said toys for a week. 2nd offense (rare) was all losing access for a month. Third offense (never occurred, because we weren't that stupid) was toys given to Goodwill. And in our case a week was a week (no parental softening after a day or two).

Even if you could lock down the web gui, they could still control the other's player directly via the Radio by using "Choose Player". I'm afraid you'll have to bite the bullet and educate your children to be considerate. And as garym says, you have a lot of leverage because you can take away the Radios.

There was a thread here a year or so ago when a user had managed to child-proof the menus on a Touch so his kids couldn't do anything destructive. It's pretty likely that the same (or very similar) instructions would work for the Radio as well.

I'll see if I can find it and post a link, but try a search for that meantime.

EDIT: Here's the thread I'm referring to: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83308
