Hi,

Could anyone advise if it could be straightforward to take an analogue line
in feed into either my Mandrake box running slimserver or my XP pc on the
lan and encode it into a stream which I could have access to on the
squeezeboxes. You'll have to forgive my ignorance of the world of Linux
code out there as I have only recently started using the platform as what
has proven to be a happier home for slimserver over my ageing and overworked
XP PC.

Regards,

Nick Lewis

This thread April 2004 talks about one solution:

You can also take a look at icecast, <http://www.icecast.org/>, a
streaming media server, and MuSE, <http://muse.dyne.org/>. Together
these should be able to provide an MP3 stream to Slimserver.
