Hi Everyone, been some time but still enjoying my SB Classic's. The problem is that as the remote controllers are getting older 2 of them have stopped working and I only have one left. Does anyone know anywhere in the UK where I can buy a couple of spare remotes?

The good news is that you can use the infrared that comes with the Touch, which is also available as a separate item from Logitech in many countries. The bad news is that the UK doesn't appear to be one of those countries. If you can somehow get your hands on a Touch remote, that would be the easiest option. It is available in the US, for now at least (http://buy.logitech.com/store/logib2c/en_US/DisplayCategoryProductListPage/categoryid.28136200).

Another possibility is that one of the fragile connections in the remote has broken, and can be fixed by re-soldering the connection. Search the forum for "solder" and "remote" and you'll find more info.

Not sure if you have access to an itouch, ipad, or iphone but if you do for less than 10 bucks you can get an app, ipeng or squeezepad (ipad only), which work extremely well. Logitech even has a free app which is very basic but gets the job done better than the old remote that comes with the classic in my opinion. Squeezepad is on sale this week for 5 bucks for the ipad which makes it a pretty awesome deal.

In a pinch the SB3/Classic will also recognize JVC_DVD IR codes, including from a programmable IR remote with such JVC_DVD IR codes.

Have a look towards the bottom RHS of this page:

It's fairly common for the IR emitter in the remote to suffer from a bad contact. You can test this by looking at it through a digital camera. The emitter will glow when operated & viewed through the camera. If it doesn't the chances are one of the connections is bad. It's just a blob of solder to repair.

Good find. I tried looking the way it's found on the US site, which is by going to the Touch support page, then "Replacement Parts", the problem being that the UK site doesn't have a "Replacement Parts" link on the Touch support page.

You're surely not expecting any kind of consistency across Logitech sites? http://forums.slimdevices.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Last item on this page: https://www.ripcaster.co.uk/product?from=180

A bit pricey though, only 20 when I got one for my Boom a couple of years ago.

I use the Squeezecontrol app on Android. It works fine for me.

Just to update everyone, purchased a Touch remote direct from Logitec UK, 20 inc delivery, works just as good as the original. Thanks to everyone for their help.
