View Full Version : Quirks when upgrading

I just upgraded to 5.3.0 (from 5.1!), and ran into
the following:

1. On my server (400MHz Pentium II, 384KB, Win98), the
upgrade appeared to hang at the end; the setup wizard
froze with the status bar filled in (see attached image).
This could only be closed from the task manager. I ran
it a second time with the same result, then tried opening
the browser window, which seemed to work, and has been
working fine since.

2. When I upgraded the firmware (Squeezebox, prior to
installing new display), it went through its paces until
it said the upgrade was complete, then prompted me a
second time to hold down the brightness key, which I did,
and it went through the upgrade a second time. This time
it went back to the normal menus, and seems to work fine.

Is there any reason to be concerned about these quirks?

I'm not sure about #1, but #2 is actually the expected behavior
upgrading from 5.1.

5.1 is relatively old - a two-step upgrade is needed to get to the
current firmware and it apparently worked correctly. :)
