I'd like to make a suggestion about the mailing lists in relation to the
software versions.

You may remember I was (am) very strongly in favour of having more clearly
defined branches for the slimserver software. I think there should be:

1. stable or release version, wich is updated to fix bugs and introduce new
after they have been thoroughly tested, e.g. support for the graphic display.

2. development or beta version, which is where most bugs are fixed and tested
and where
new features are first introduced and tested.

Plus of course:

3. CVS (or nightly builds), for those who like to be bleeding edge!

I think the mailing lists should reflect this, i.e. there should be two or three

1. slim-users (AT) lists (DOT) slimdevices.com
For non-technical users of Squeezebox and slimp3 products.
Questions and issues related to RELEASE versions of software, i.e. 5.2.1 and the
upcoming 5.3 version.

2. slim-devel (AT) lists (DOT) slimdevices.com
For more technical users, particular those using beta and CVS versions of

3. developers (AT) lists (DOT) slimdevices.com
For those actually coding slimserver.

I think these changes would go a long way towards creating a better image for
slim devices.
