Does anyone know of a good converter that will convert all of my WAVs to
MP3s? I would like to be able to select my music directory and have it
convert all the WAVs in all of the subdirectories to MP3s then delete the
WAVs. If that's too much to ask for I was looking for something free
because I will only have to do this once.

I checked the archives and couldn't find anything.

Thanks.

on Mac there is SoundConverter which works well... I've used it for a
variety of tasks. You just drag the folder with files and it takes care
of the rest.

CDex will handle batch conversions as well as ripping to WAV or MP3 (which
is its main purpose).

http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Very simple user interface for batch conversions, and I believe it comes
with the Lame dll so you don't need to install anything else. (Except to
help with tagging; I'm not sure how well it handles that. Probably best to
use a utility that's dedicated to tagging MP3s.)
