hello there.

i thought i did a smart thing, buying a squeezebox reciever from a store.
i got it really cheap, since the remote was sold separate as replacement to a customer.

no problem i thought, since i have a Galaxy tab, and that could be used to controll the squeezebox.

have tried to download a few different controllers for android, and these seems to work, IF you have set up the squeezebox.

i cannot set up my squeezebox without the remote.

So is it a way around this? or do i have to buy a new remote, or a complete pakage?

dont kill me if i posted this the wrong place-

Welcome, and this is a fine place to post your message. The Duet forum might have been better, but this is fine.

There are three ways to setup the Receiver.

1) with the SB Controller (the other half of the Duet)

2) with the Net::UDAP utility (search the forums for UDAP and you'll find it). It runs on all platforms (Windows, MacOS, Linux)

3) with the SqueezeCommander app for Android phones. I don't know if it works for a Galaxy tab as well, but see this page for details: http://www.squeezecommander.com/

no problem, and here's a link to the Net::UDAP thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57861

A lot of people find the Net::UDAP utility a little cryptic, but it's really not bad if you just follow the directions. And if you get stumped there is good support here. Note that the utility requires Perl to be installed on the computer running the utility.

SqueezeCommander works fine on a Galaxy Tab (I'm using it almost exclusively on my Galaxy Tab now...), but it cannot configure your Receiver.

But there is help! :-)
To configure a Receiver from Android, please take a look at SqueezeConfig:
