I have a squeezebox v3 and am running slimserver v 6.5.1 - 10145 for windows xp. I am thinking about buying a squeezebox boom and using it in another room. Regardless of whether or not I buy the boom, should I update slimserver to the squeezebox server 7.5.2 or not? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, I've waited this long so what's 2 more weeks. Should I uninstall slimserver before I install? Are there any plugins available for the new software? Where? Thanks.

Plugins are a tab in settings. In addition, at the bottom of that page are selections for "Show all 3rd party plugins" and a place to add additional plugin repositories.

I'm not sure any slimserver settings will be retained when you upgrade but it doesn't hurt to hope.

BTW: after slimserver, it was called squeezecenter and then SBS

It's a very big version leap maybe things goes more smoothly if you do a totally clean install ? Just my 2c .
Can be tedious to put in all settings and "Squeeze Network" and pin codes is no more you use an email instead (on mysqueezebox.com).

Plugin install is very simple in new sbs just use the plugin tab ib the web ui as dicribed by the other posters :) no more manually copying stuff to certain folders and you can have the plugins updating themselfs to
