Hi,

I placed a Boom in a bedroom where the WiFi signal strength isn't the best, so I would like to pursue a wired connection. The room doesn't have Cat 5 cable run to it, but it does have a Cat 3 phone line.

Can I terminate that Cat 3 cable with the appropriate LAN connector and be good to go? Distance from the switch is ~30 ft.

Regards,

Rob

CAT3 is only "certified" up to 10Mbps I believe, so if you can, you might want to force the connection to 10Mbps/Full Duplex... but there should be no issue with using CAT3 cabling instead of CAT5.
