Look under server settings --> Additional settings --> Filetyeps

It looks like you need Lame. I know I do on my Mac, but I have a
SlimP3...

Subject: [slim] Apple Lossless?

OS X
Squeezebox wired
Ripped a cd in itunes, apple lossless file to check out the sound
quality. It shows up in my browser and it plays but no sound from my
stereo or from the headphone jack. Lossless checked in the server
settings. 5.2.1, firmware 29. Any suggestions?

He's running a wired SB, and wants to hear the benefits of a lossless
file format. LAME would not be indicated. I suspect the problem lies
elsewhere.

I'm not using Apple Lossless, so can't give direct instructions, but I
imagine you want to look into the Filetypes settings w/i SS and make
sure the Lossless decoder is correctly mapped to the filetype.

Server Settings->Additional Server Settings->Debugging,
check d_source,
click "Change"

open a browser to:
http://slimserverIP:9000/log.txt,
user the IP address of your server for serverIP, or localhost if you are using
the same machine as the server.

try to play the song,
refresh the browser,
see what messages are there regarding the playback command. This should be
using mov123 but there may be problems.
