I sent my father two radios as a gift and one of them arrived with the battery severely damaged (see image).

He said the package (not the shipping box) was opened, from what he says it sounds like the device was in this condition when it left logitech. The radio itself is fine (so far).

Anyone else have similar problems - I ordered straight from logitech.

Very odd.

Very odd.

Maybe I'm paranoid... but wonder if TSA decided to ensure the batteries were batteries and ripped it apart to check.

I mean it is now illegal to ship printer cartridges via air transport.... so who knows.

Maybe caused by Logitech mice in the same warehouse?

Lithium batteries can be extremely dangerous when damaged... please take care to dispose of them safely. (Especially don't get them wet.)

Edit: erk! I sit corrected -- they are NiMH. (Must have been spending too much time being scared by the candlepower forums and their accounts of bad batteries.)

These are NiMh batteries, so not *that* extremely dangerous.
