I'm having a recent problem with my SB3. The player will start a song, and about 8 seconds in I'll get a "can't connect to server" message on the SB3, it will go to the "Logitech Squeezebox" start message and cycle through the settings to find the IP address, etc. It will then come back to the song that was playing, but will not respond to the "play" button the remote.

This is a new problem for me--not sure if there's anything helpful in this log:

go to the mysqueezebox.com tab within SbS > SETTINGS. Make sure your mysb.com credentials are entered there.

also, maybe the SB is having trouble talking to the internet. Turn off router, turn off computer running SbS, unplug SB3. Then restart, in same order letting each item fully boot/start before turning on the next.

Thank you, I'll try your suggestions. Quick/beginner question: at the "mysqueezebox" tab on SBS, is it normal that when I enter my password and hit "apply", the password disappears and a "changes have been saved" message appears? I would have thought that the disguised password would stay.

just looked at my tab, and password is disguised. exit the browser and then restart the WebUI and go back to mysb.com tab of settings. do you see ********* there now for password?

I don't see the password--it's blank again, as if I never entered the password earlier. The turning off and on suggestion didn't work, unfortunately. I notice that on the web gui, it shows a particular song playing (the timer counts down) but on the SB itself, the correct song is displayed, "now playing" is indicated but no sound comes out.

It's as if every few minutes some process is run that interferes with the music and causes the SB to lose its place and try to reboot itself.

In the distant past, I recall trying to enter my credentials on the mysb.com tab and thinking it was accepting them, but then noticing in small print somewhere (bottom of page?????) an error message regarding my credentials. This was several years ago, and at the time, I just reinstalled the latest version of SbS and that solved my issue.

That's interesting; I didn't see any such error message (I even changed and reset the password today). I'm using the latest build (7.6.2) after having the problems on 7.5.1. I noticed that on the website "mysqueezebox.com", it recognizes my log-in but claims that my player is "not connected". I don't know if that's a related problem.

I guess I could delete the SBS and try a new install, but that's kind of a last resort . . damnation!

7.6 can be very unstable. I wouldn't use that unless you are really interesting in playing around with truly beta versions. 7.5.2 is beta but quite stable.

if your player is connected to SbS, it will NOT show up as connected at mysqueezebox.com. That is the correct behavior.

I misspoke--I had used 7.5.2, not 7.6. In any event, I went back to 7.5.1, but I continue to have the same problem. My other wireless devices are working fine, so it's something unique to the Squeezebox. Of course, that doesn't really narrow it down--could be Itunes or any other myriad setting option that I accidently screwed up. I use Microsoft Essentials antivirus as well. I appreciate the help!

aha. that's better. and 7.5.2 is actually fine. But I'm at a loss. I really thought rebooting your router would help. And just because other wireless devices work, doesn't mean the sb player will work (IP address overlap, etc. etc.) can cause issues (thus the complete router reboot to start from scratch on assigning stuff).

Try this: temporarily connect the player to your router with ethernet. go through setup to choose ethernet, etc. Then see if you can get everything working, mysb.com credentials entered, etc. I'm just trying to get wifi, internet out of the equation for the moment.

I will try that later--thanks!

Things are much improved today. The system worked fine yesterday when connected via ethernet; when I went back to wireless, I didn't seem to have a problem. Over three enjoyable hours this morning without dropouts either.

The problem seems to be when I select favorite radio stations via mysqueezebox--I had the restarting problem again this morning, but when I switched back to the web access and accessed radio stations through the SBS, I had no problems (knock wood). Thanks again for the help!
