All Songs Considered (NPR) now has a streaming music feed. Unfortunately it's linked to a media player that you have to launch. Would anyone know of a direct feed that I could use for the Squeezebox?

Here's the URL that will play in iTunes: http://npr.ic.llnwd.net/stream/npr_music2.pls

Just now trying to figure out how to play on my Boom.

Works for me... enter it under Internet Radio > Tune In URL in the web interface. It's a 128 kbps Mp3 stream.

Is there anyway for the software to remember this URL so I don't have to paste it in every time?

By the way, the stream works fine.

Once you have it playing you can save it to your favorites list.

I tried using the server software to save it as a favorite but couldn't figure out how.

I then used the Boom that it was playing on to save it to favorites.

Problem:

The description says "Title: http://sc10.dal.llnw.net/stream/npr_music2"

Is there a way to retitle it?

You can edit the favorite in squeezbox server .

To make a new fav in sbs you to first tick that tiny little edit icon .

Then you can give it whatever name you want.

Did you use favorites or presets on the boom ?

Just holding a number saves it as preset not a favorite then you cant edit it in the web-UI .

Btw I have not figured how to add a favorite with my boom anymore ?
I used to do it on my SB3 have something change in 7.6b lately that broke this,
it used be very simple, I'm just surprised that i can figure out how ?

I cannot find the "tiny little edit icon".

There's a play icon and an add to playlist icon, but that's it.

To add to favorites on the Boom, just use the right hand direction selector to move to the right one step from the currently displayed item of the stream, and then down one menu choice to "Add to favorites".

Here are two ways to create a favorite from a radio station using the web interface:

#1
- Play the URL using Internet Radio > Tune In URL.
- Once playing, click the title in either the Now Playing or playlist window.
- In the browse pane on the left, click the heart icon.

#2
- Mouseover the Favorites selection in the main menu.
- Click the edit (pencil) icon.
- Click the 'New Favorite' button.
- Enter a name and the URL and Save.

Edit: You'll get different icons using the two methods above. With #1 you'll get the radio stations logo, if hey have one. If they don't have a logo, the icon will be a generic radio tower. With #2 you'll always get just a heart icon. So if you want a meaningful icon, use #1.

To get into Edit mode on the SBS UI:

- Click on the text of any song or station or folder within Favorites
- Look in upper left corner, you should see a menu structure layout like: Home > Favorites > *song*
- Click on Favorites from above menu structure
- You should now be in EDIT mode and you should see the “pencil” as an option

Thanks for the link, very nice stuff. I listen to it in the car but not a direct stream. This is nice.

Is there anyway to get my Squeezebox to play other things which play in the NPR Player. For instance, each week NPR Music features First Listens which I'd love to stream throughout the house via my Squeezebox.

Any thoughts on how to find the correct URL?

Thanks, David
