Can anybody tell me if the Alienstream software will work on Windows XP so that I can listen to BBC radio on my SB? I had a quick look and wasn't really sure. If it will work, can somebody send me a simple summary of the install steps?

One last request. Does anybody have a list of UK Radio stations that will work on the SB that I can load as a playlist.

Thanks

If you make one, I'll gladly use it.

Hiya!

Sorry... You won't get AlienBBC to work on Windoze at the moment. It relies on the Xine libraries - and they're pretty heavily broken on Win32 platforms at the moment.

Theoretically... you can run a small linux system on a separate machine, and stream from there, although that's a slightly advanced version. And it's probably overkill.

More sensible would be running linux inside VMWare on his XP box, et
voila, a working xine.

True.

Although... to be honest... if I was seriously considering running a
complete VM for Slimserver... I'd be inclined to run the whole thing from
inside there, rather than just the transcoder proxy.

;)
