Why are we tying in the character support with the Perl 5.8 upgrade
(which could break the MacOS support).
Wouldn't non-latin support on the web interface and SB be sufficient to
start ?

Is that (switching to perl 5.8 and using utf8) going to be easy?

Let's get this going and don't let the momentum stop. I fear that if we

don't organise something and take baby-steps towards forward it will
just be a dead-end discussion thread in the archive.

Unfortunately as I don't have a sb I'm not the best person to organise
something. I'd be happy to test out slimserver code though.
