View Full Version : Slimserver crashes when rescanning library

KDF,
I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can.
I am not using softsqueeze. I'm not sure how to answer your question "Do
you have a squeezebox connected to the server at the time?" Yes, I have a
Squeezebox which I assume is connected to the server. I've tried rescanning
with the Squeezebox 'on' and 'off' and received the same results -if that
helps.
As far as what I'm doing aside form letting it scan...I don't think
anything. I hit "rescan" and Slimserver gives me a white screen just like a
web browser returns when it can't find a URL. Slimserver then keeps trying
to connect to localhost (I guess the Squeezebox) but never recovers.
Eventually (within 45 seconds) Windows tells me the program has stopped
operating and the error reporting window appears. I then force Slimserver
to close.
BTW, how long should it take to rescan a music collection? Just so I know
in the event it ever does it correctly. Mine is ~ 12,000 files in size.

from the errors there, it looks like you are trying to do something before
the
server has found any valid clients. Do you have a squeezebox or softsqueeze
connected to the server at the time? What are you trying to do aside from
letting it scan when it crashes?
