WindowsXP...I'm not familiar with the "event timer". Can you tell me where
to look and what to look for? Thanks for the response.


which os?
if windows, what do you find in teh event viewer for the crash?
if linux, what is the last entry in /tmp/slimserver.log?
if osx, its the same idea but I dont know where the log file resides off
hand.

alternatively, you can run the server from command line:
c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe -d_info (for win)
/usr/local/slimserver/slimserver.pl --d_info (for linux)

Event Viewer:
start->settings->control panel->administrative tools->event viewer.
This will launch an application that tracks various system events and stores
certain details about the event. Most recent events appear at the top so you
should be able to find either slim.exe or slimserver listed there.
Odds are the server has crashed on a particular file while scanning.
