One thing that can greatly reduce the occurrence of this "accident" is to
avoid using the "Now Playing (Jump Back on Wake)" option in the player's
advanced settings. If you're using this particular option, try the simple
"Now Playing" option instead. Neall

FYI I opened two enhancement suggestions related to this issue.

The first, http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=507 is
directly related and IMHO probably rather easy and uncontroversial
to implement. It directly addresses the issue of accidentally
selecting massive playlists no matter how it is caused, eg.
"jumpback on wake" accident, lost key press (ie. you thought
you drilled down one more level but didn't), inattention, etc.

The second addresses what, I believe, is slightly confusing,
inconsistent behaviour of the 'play' button depending on the
context; as opposed to the behaviour of the other buttons that
action on the currently playing playlist. You might as well
just read it and see if you agree:

Now that we have voting enabled we can even see if anyone agrees
with me :-).
