SlimNAS home page indicates compatibility with 7.4.1, but I've already upgraded to 7.5 on my XP machine, which means the firmware in the player has also been updated. Now I am in the process of building a FreeNAS NAS box and would like to move the SB server to this box.

Something tells me something bad will happen if I try to downgrade the player firmware. Has anyone tried this? Or has anyone tried using SB Server 7.5 with SlimNAS instead?

Does SlimNAS let SB Server talk to an iTunes directory like on WinXP?

Thanks!

Steve,

a thread with almost the verbatim subject has come up earlier this week. Short answer: yes.

It says 7.4.1+ - which should cover 7.5 too.

In theory: yes. But don't ask me about the details. I've never tested this myself. It's a question of copying xml files and defining file paths in SBS' iTuness settings.
