Since it is an applet I would assume that the jre would be necessary..

If I remember right the "gordon" skin was done in flash and I think I saw
the .fla there... Maybe a player could somehow be integrated into that skin?
Or even made as a module that could be included in any of the other skins as
well?

I think we on to a real cool idea here...
