Posted this on Beginners but I guess the visitors have no more idea then me ...
Sprang a SLIMP3 off eBay a while ago for a good price (just 'cos it's so cool); just dusted it off and connected it up to newly-arrived AudioEngine A2s. N I C E !
However, many of my files are Apple Lossless .m4a (ripped by me or converted from FLAC by dBpoweramp) and I get the dreaded "Problem - unable to play file type for <file name>" message.
I thought I'd cracked this ages ago but clearly not. Followed wiki guidelines (I think) for LAME installation but not installed / working.
HELP PLEASE!
Running Server 7.4.2 - r30215 under XP Pro installed on Sony laptop local disk D:\SqueezeCenter\server (I put lame.exe into the \Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread folder). Lame is 3.98.3 with Firmware 2.3 on SLIMP3.
No problems on wireless SB Classic or Boom.
I'm sure it's simple but I'm getting past this stuff with increasing antiquity!
Thanks.
