I am looking at moving my OS from XP to WHS, is it possible to just 'move' my settings for squeezecenter from XP to WHS or do I have to just go through all the screens re-inputting my settings for display setup etc?

I just copied my prefs folder after installing and it all seemed to work just fine!

You should be fine, but will need to redo any path related setting (eg. music folder). You best remove those items from the prefs file before you install on the WHS.

Oh yes, I did have to redo my paths, but I migrated from an external harddrive to the WHS and so I just changed E:\ to \\myserver\ as I kept the same directory structure so it was very easy.

Yeah, basically thatís all I did whilst obviously ensuring all the paths were updated to reflect the move and I had no problems.

After searching around I think the slimserver.pref file should be in server directory but it doesn't seem to be there on my system. It doesn't appear to be anywhere, help!

Look in the WebUI, Settings > Information to find out where all the special folders are, including prefs.

you are a star!
It was hiding in documents and settings/all users/application data/squeezebox which expains why when I searched in my 'program files' directory it didn't find it.
